SATURDAY 12
LAUNCH DAY FOR CARNIVALE 1991.
9 am-11 am: Radio 2RES at the Paddington Town Hall to feature schoolchildren as disc jockeys.
9.30 am: Marshalling begins at the rear of Victoria Barracks (Moore Park Road) for the Grand Parade.
11.30 am-12.30 pm: Grand Parade up Moore Park Road and down Oxford Street.
Parking at $4 a day available in areas one and two, opposite Showground in Moore Park. (Watch out for giveaways - 50 double passes to the Freezer Nightclub for Friday 18 (18 years and over) and 1,000 free giveaways from Penfold's Stationers).
12.30 pm-5.30 pm: Family Picnic Day and Food and Wine Fair at Kippax Lake, Moore Park.
9.30 am-4 pm: Paddington Library has extended opening hours as part of the festival.
2 pm-3 pm: At Paddington Library - Voices from Paddington. Poetry readings. Entry free.
Program: Yuri - a Storyteller. Susan Wildman, poetry from Dreaming Under Bridge; Dick May, contemporary poetry from inner-city dwellers; David Wansbrough, artist and writer; Sam Fonti, Paddington Poet; Barry Gordon, Paddington poet; and Dulcie Meadows, actress and radio personality. Refreshments available.

SUNDAY 13
ARTS IN THE STREETS - LAUNCH DAY FOR NATIONAL ARTS WEEK.
11 am-2 pm: Bicycle safety competition at the Centennial Park cycle track, organised by Wooly's Wheels and the Paddington beat police. Lots of prizes and a sausage sizzle.
10.30 am-noon: The Paddington Gateway Heritage Walk, led by local historian Ron Johnson, starts from the bandstand in Green Park (opposite St Vincent's Hospital) - 1 1/2 hours, no steep hills. $7, $14 a family of four, $4 a child. Contact Ron Johnson on 363 0903 between 4 pm and 9 pm.
12.30 pm: Paddington Perspective - Bridge St Gallery, 124 Jersey Rd. Launch of exhibition displaying projects that reflect notable architects' approaches to working in Paddington and dealing with its special conservation issues.
Arts in the Streets - Oxford Art Supplies competition. Subject: Oxford Street. Works must be painted on that day out in the streets. Prizes of $500, $200 and $100 Register at Oxford Art Supplies, 221 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.
1 pm: OTC 363 Oxford Street. Launch and presentations for the Tech Art Competition. 3 pm Exhibition opens to the Public.

6.30 pm: Paddington-Woollahra RSL - Louisiana Red Cajun Band and Billy Branch Blues Band. Tickets at the RSL.
MONDAY 14
10 am to noon: Have your reminiscences of old Paddington recorded as part of an oral history project at The Paddington Society's office in Juniper Hall

10 am: Victoria Barracks - changing of the guard. Guided Tour at 10.30 am.
4 pm: Launch of Paddington Past and Present - an oral history project interpreted through the eyes of students of the associate diploma of architectural drafting at Sydney Technical College. At the E. J. Ward Centre, 189 Underwood Street.
6 pm: East Sydney Technical College National Art School exhibition launch at Juniper Hall.
7.30 pm: Paddington Society conservation Forum - "Not Just a Pretty Place". A group of distinguished architects and planners will present their views on tourism and architecture and the current controls for conservation as a basis for a panel discussion on the future of conservation in Paddington. 11 am-3 pm: In the Churchyard - a program of music, comedy and preaching, with refreshments and a chance to relax.
Noon to 4 pm: Jazz at Juniper Hall. A tribute to Miles Davis, featuring Sydney musicians. In the rear courtyard. Refreshments available. Tickets $7 available at Juniper Hall.
1.30 pm: Gates open for the Victoria Barracks 150th birthday celebrations and family day. Parking available at $4 a day in Moore Park opposite the Showground in area one. The rear entrance to the barracks will be open.
1.30 pm: The Cessnock Police Citizens Youth Club Concert Band.
2 pm: Changing of the guard, followed by a tour of the barracks and museum by the corps of guides.
3 pm The Gaden Bush Band.
3.30 pm and 4.30 pm: Demonstration by the Holsworthy gymnastics team.
4 pm: Tai-chi display.
5 pm: Pipes and drums performance, with the Dorothy Kerr Dancers.
6 pm: Evening concert begins with the 2nd Military District Band.
